Abstract Due to the technological progress, new approaches such as model-based design are spreading in development process automotive industry meet increased requirements related lower fuel consumption and reduced emission. This work is part of a research project which focuses on dynamic modeling vehicles aimed at analyzing optimizing emission consumption. To model driver behavior, simulation control algorithm requires predetermined speed-time curve an input. The completeness this driving cycle crucial factor simulation, far legislative cycles not accurate enough, it indispensable develop our own one representing narrower area conditions. article considers two common drive methods, comparing micro-trip-based approach Markov-chain approach. has been developed applying compared introduced recent paper using micro-trip method. comparison basis Speed-Acceleration Probability Distribution, sufficiently reflects behavior vehicle, root mean square error, including parameters average speed, cruising acceleration, deceleration, idle time percentage. representative Bus Driving Cycle for Debrecen prepared be applied vehicle dynamics evaluating improving economy vehicles, selecting proper power source various applications optimization powertrain energy researches continued.
